OTC Foundation Golf Tournament

The OTC Foundation held its first golf tournament on August 27, 2007, at Highland Springs Country Club. The Foundation raised nearly $12,000 for student scholarships, endowments for new programs, and capital improvements. We had 27 teams that participated in the tournament.

The 2nd Annual OTC Foundation Golf Tournament will be Monday, August 25, 2008 at Highland Springs Country Club.

Commencement

Picture of students graduating The 2007 Commencement Ceremony was held Thursday, May 17, at Hammons Student Center on the Missouri State University Campus. There were 398 students that participated in the special event, which featured music from the Springfield Symphony and a keynote address from Missouri’s State Treasurer Sarah Steelman.

Survivor Auditions

Hundreds of Survivor candidates turned out at the Springfield campus Friday, January 12. Each candidate received the opportunity to have a 2 minute audition recorded and sent to CBS producers in Los Angeles, CA for review. The winner each season receives $1 million. Survivor has just finished its 13th season, filmed in the South Pacific on the Cook Islands. The location for the 15th season has not been determined.

Spring Picnic 2006

Band DancingMore than 2,000 students, faculty, OTC alumni and friends gathered May 5, 2006 for the Student Picnic. Rain forced events to be moved indoors but that didn't stop participants from having a great time.

The day included music by the Mariachi band visiting from Springfield’s sister city, Tlaquepaque, Mexico, pie throwing contest, lots of food and giveaways.

Fall Commencement

The fall commencement ceremony was held on December 16, 2005. Approximately 300 students graduated at the end of the fall semester. Congratulations to everyone!


Alumni and Friends DayAlumni and Friends Day

Around 200 Alumni and Friends of OTC gathered for the first Alumni and Friends Day, September 1, 2005. The group mingled and ate on the OTC campus and then watched as Dr. Myers, president of OTC, threw out the first pitch at the Springfield Cardinals game. On hand for the occasion was Dr. Myers’ honorary pitching coach and former St. Louis Cardinals standout, Bill Virdon.
