πOzarks Tech is proud to support mental health awareness!
πOn April 24, we celebrated the installation of the βBe Well Bellβ at the OTC Richwood Valley Campus, a powerful symbol of hope, healing, and community support.
This project was a collaboration between @ptk.otc, @ozarkstechcounselingservices, and @burrellbewellcommunity, and reflects our deep commitment to student wellbeing.
π¬As Chancellor Hal Higdon said, βWe want to provide for our students in every possible way. Helping them with positive mental health support is just one of the many ways we live our OTC Cares values.β
π€³Visit the bell along the trail around the Richwood Valley Campus, scan the QR code, and explore mental health and community resources available to you.

πMeet Noah
βοΈMost high school juniors are still figuring out their future. Not Noah Cones. The @officialSPS Kickapoo High student is one of just ten who began the FlySPS aviation program in Fall 2024, a selective, dual-credit opportunity through Ozarks Tech that gives students a chance to obtain the private pilot certificate.
Noahβs days begin early at the Springfield-Branson National Airport, where he studies aviation weather, flight systems, and air traffic control. Through Ozarks Techβs partnership with @premierflightcenter, he receives hands-on flight training as part of the programβs real-world experience. After that, he heads to Kickapoo for a half day of classes, followed by track and cross-country practice.
πOne highlight of the program so far was a visit to Game Composites in Arkansas, where Noah saw the entire process of building high-performance stunt planes, from raw carbon fiber to finished aircraft.
Now, heβs focused on earning his private pilot license. After graduation, he plans to study aviation in college. The University of Oklahoma, home to one of the countryβs top aviation programs, is one of the options he`s considering.
π¬βItβs challenging,β Noah says. βBut itβs exactly where I want to be.β

πCongratulations to Ozarks Tech student Jackson Byrd!
πHis oil pastel, βWings of Conservation,β now hangs in the Missouri Governorβs Mansion after he presented it to Governor Mike Kehoe. Named the 2024 Youth Conservationist of the Year by the Conservation Federation of Missouri, Jackson is deeply involved in environmental efforts nationwide and will lead the OTC Green Council next year.
π¦
Attending Ozarks Tech on an A+ scholarship, Jackson plans to major in Wildlife Biology and Fisheries with a minor in Art. He describes his piece as symbolic of βpast successes and the future of conservation in Missouri,β with the bald eagle representing one of Americaβs greatest conservation success stories. The eagleβs wings symbolize the state governmentβs role in preserving conservation efforts in Missouri.
