Getting Started - Transfer Student

Complete an Application for Admission to OTC. You can either fill it out online, pick up an application in Student Services, print one in PDF format, or call (417) 447-6900 and request that a form be sent to you.

Apply for financial aid, if needed. Information regarding financial aid and related deadlines is available on the Financial Aid area of the website. If you are a veteran planning to use the GI Bill, click here.

Complete Orientation. All new OTC students are required to complete orientation prior to meeting with an advisor and enrolling in classes. To register for an orientation session or complete it online, click here.

Request your official college transcripts be sent to OTC. This should be done well in advance before scheduling classes. In order to take a math or English course or any other course that has a prerequisite, you will need to have a transcript showing previous college courses that satisfy the requirement or have qualifying scores from the ACT or OTC placement test. Mail or fax to: Ozarks Technical Community College, 1001 E Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO, 65802 or 417-447-6925.

Arrange to take a placement test. Placement tests are required for all students who do not have ACT scores, or their ACT scores are older than 2 years. Placement testing is also required for transfer students who have not taken English &/or math in college and for students pursuing certain allied health programs. Arrange to take a free career assessment, if needed. If you are undecided on a major or are unsure of a career path, then a career assessment may be of benefit to you and assist with your college and career making decisions. To schedule an appointment, please call 417-447-6974.

Meet with an academic advisor. All transfer students must attend orientation, submit all official transcripts and meet with an academic advisor prior to registration.
On the Springfield campus, it is strongly recommended that you schedule an advising appointment, however you may also be seen on a walk-in basis. Please contact 417-447-6909 to schedule this appointment.
On the Richwood Valley campus, appointments are recommended, however, you may also be seen on a walk-in basis. Please contact 417-447-7727 to schedule an appointment.
Limited advising is available at the Branson, Waynesville and Lebanon Education Centers. For more information, please call the Education Center directly (Branson: 417-447-8920; Lebanon 417-447-8932; Waynesville 417-447-6631).
Be sure to bring your photo ID with you. - Register for classes. Spring registration for new students
will begin December 2. Once the above steps have been completed, you can either register
online or come into Student Services. If you register in Student Services, photo ID must be provided. The earlier you register, the more
choices you will have in class offerings and times.
In order to register online or use many other MyOTC functions, you will need a user name and password. The "Online Help" will provide you with user name and password instructions. If you have problems logging in, call the Help Desk at (417) 447-7548.

Make tuition payment arrangements. By registering for classes, each student accepts responsibility for payment of all tuition and fees. Full payments can be made online through the AccessOTC tab in MyOTC; select Student Access Menu. For a complete list of deadline dates, click here.

Option #1 - Pay tuition and fees in full. This can be done through the AccessOTC tab in MyOTC (select Student Access Menu) or at the Cashier's Office, 2nd floor, Information Commons.
Option #2 - Enroll with e-Cashier each semester. This can be done AFTER you have registered in classes for the upcoming semester. The sooner you enroll with e-Cashier, the more payment plan choices you will have.
If you do not personally pay in full, you are required to enroll with e-Cashier to complete your registration, even if your tuition and fees are being paid by:
- Pell grant or student loan
- A+ Program
- Scholarship
- Your employer
- Federal or state agency

- Attend Welcome Day. (optional) This is a great opportunity for you to come to campus before school starts and learn about student organizations & OTC resources, get your ID card, visit the bookstore, locate yur classrooms, register your car with Safety & Security, attend information sessions and simply ask questions.
