What is Dual Credit?

Through the Dual Credit program, qualified high school students are able to enroll in specifically approved classes taught in their local high schools during normal high school hours. They receive “dual credit,” i.e., both high school and college credit for their work. Dual credit gives motivated, college-bound high school students the opportunity to get a “jump start” on college by earning credit before attending Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) on a full-time basis. The current fee is $65.00 per credit hour.
Ozarks Technical Community College is fully accredited by the North Central Association. Credit earned under this program will be applicable toward a degree at OTC and is generally transferable to other accredited four-year colleges and universities in Missouri. Because each institution establishes its own transfer credit policies, Ozarks Technical Community College cannot guarantee transfer of credit to another university.
