MyOTC Information
MyOTC is a web technology called a "portal" that is a fast and easy access point to resources at Ozarks Technical Community College. The MyOTC website gives faculty, staff, and students a single point of access to services that OTC provides.
MyOTC is an essential tool to the OTC community, and can be accessed via the OTC home page or directly at https://my.otc.edu.
AccessOTC

When a student uses AccessOTC, they can access online registration, financial aid information, grades, and various other academic profile information.
OTC E-mail

All members of the OTC community (faculty, staff, and students) benefit from this resource. OTC e-mail is accessed via MyOTC under the tab, Webmail. The Webmail tab makes your OTC e-mail available to you from anywhere you have internet access. This is important because the OTC Webmail system is the only official channel for communication of e-mail between faculty, staff, and students.
Web File Storage

The storage tab takes you to a channel labeled "Briefcase." The "Briefcase" channel contains links to personal folders and shared folders. This allows you to work on a project anywhere, store it in the briefcase and retrieve it from another computer. This is especially useful for moving things from home to school and back. Students are able to store 20 MB worth of data in the MyOTC Storage.
Another feature available is the ability to create shared folders. This allows you to share information with others.
Resources

The resources tab gives faculty, staff, and students online access to Library Research Databases.
Blackboard

This tab takes you to OTC's online learning platform, Blackboard Academic Suite 7.1. If you take online courses at OTC, you will use Blackboard extensively -- to view announcements from your instructors, to access your lessons and other course materials, and to discuss relevant concepts and readings with your classmates and instructors.
Many on-campus, or "seated," courses also use Blackboard to supplement in-class instruction. These are called Web-enhanced courses. Instructors who teach Web-enhanced classes might use Blackboard to post course syllabi, lecture notes, supplemental presentations, your grades, and other important course information. So, whether you are enrolled in a Web-enhanced or a totally online course, be sure to check Blackboard regularly -- it is a powerful way of staying connected with your learning at OTC.
Don't Forget the Online Help!
There are many tutorials available for MyOTC usage simply by clicking the Online Help link in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You can view this file before and after log-in, so help is always at your fingertips.
