Wired Internet access is available in the Information Commons Atrium and in the Information Commons East atrium. Information is available at the Student Computer Help Desk located in the Information Commons atrium. Before accessing the internet, review OTC’s Computer Use Agreement.

This network provides connection to the Internet ONLY and not to any of the resources on the OTC internal network.

Connection Information

The OTC student wireless network conforms to the IEEE 802.11b protocol and standards. To access the wireless network you will need to acquire a wireless Ethernet card that supports the 802.11b standard and is WiFi compatible. Any wireless network card that is WiFi compatible should work with the system.

Warning: Wireless networks are not secure. Examples of actions that should not be conducted on wireless networks include transferring credit card information and logging onto a site or computer with a password. This information can be captured and used by other people.

To obtain a WEP key for wireless internet access on the OTC main campus you will need to go to the Student Help Desk, located in the Information Commons Atrium, and present your student ID. The staff will provide you with the key and instructions on set-up.
